ACE-Community Education Instructional Assistant (Before and After School)
Job Description
Sign-on Compensation after 90 days of employment.
General Description:
Assists in providing a well organized and smooth functioning before/after school program.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; or current and continuous enrollment in high school or a high school equivalency class; or a vocational education or occupational development program
- 16 years of age or older
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred)
- Must be able to pass a background check upon employment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in daily operation of the program to meet licensing, fire and sanitation requirements.
- Assists in planning activities.
- Prepares materials (i.e. copying) for program activities.
- Assists in maintaining program discipline as directed.
- Assists with set up and clean up of programs and activities.
- Assists the instructor in working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce
material and skills as directed. - Participates in-service training as directed.
- Takes appropriate precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
according to District Policy. - Models appropriate adult behavior to students.
- Models appropriate dress, grooming, and cleanliness.
- Communicates with students, parents, staff and administration.
- Follows administrative regulations of the school and the district.
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records required by law as directed.
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Reports to: Community Education Director and Assigned Site Manager
Calendar: 10 Months; 29.5hrs/week; Assignment location may vary based on staffing needs.
