JOB TITLE: TEACHING AND LEARNING COACH
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The Teaching and Learning Coach supports content-specific instruction aligned with college and career readiness standards. Dedicated to enhancing classroom instruction, the Teaching and Learning Coach provides guidance, professional development, and resources to ensure student success. The coach fosters excellence in teaching and learning by offering personalized coaching, collaborative support, and resource development to educators. Through a commitment to innovation, data-driven practices, and professional development, the Teaching and Learning Coach empowers educators to meet the diverse needs of students and achieve high standards of academic success. Reports to the Principal.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides personalized coaching and mentoring to teachers on content-specific instructional practices.
Collaborates with educators to develop and implement effective teaching strategies aligned with college and career readiness standards.
Conducts classroom observations and provides constructive feedback to enhance instructional delivery.
Demonstrates effective teaching methods by modeling lessons and strategies for educators.
Showcases innovative and research-based approaches to instruction that promote student engagement and achievement.
Assists in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting student performance data related to college and career readiness standards.
Uses data insights to inform instructional decisions and identify areas for improvement.
Plans and facilitates professional development workshops and training sessions focused on content-specific instruction.
Collaborates with school leadership to design ongoing learning opportunities that enhance educators' skills and knowledge.
Ensures curriculum and instructional materials align with college and career readiness standards.
Supports teachers in developing and adapting curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Creates and curates resources, tools, and lesson plans that support effective classroom instruction.
Shares resources and best practices with educators to promote continuous improvement.
Fosters a collaborative school culture by working closely with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
Communicates regularly with staff and administrators to coordinate coaching efforts and support school-wide goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Master's degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field is preferred. Teaching certification and at least five years of successful teaching experience in relevant content areas are required. Proven experience in instructional coaching, professional development facilitation, and data analysis is essential. A strong understanding of college and career readiness standards and their application in instructional practice is necessary. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are expected. The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and build positive relationships is crucial. A commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth is also required.
