
Radiation Therapist (Multiple Site Locations)
Job Description
Fairview is currently seeking a Casual Radiation Therapist to join our team. In this role, therapists provide flexible coverage across multiple sites, supporting staffing needs during absences such as sick leave, vacations, and FMLA. This position requires adaptability and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality patient care across various locations.
Site locations include:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering precise and efficient ionizing radiation therapy treatments as determined by the Radiation Oncologist. This position administers prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to establish practices and standards.
What you will do as a Radiation Therapist:
Prepares and constructs equipment such as immobilization devices as needed or prescribed by the physician
Prepares and educates patients and families for simulation and treatment
Observes and reassures patients during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician or turn equipment off if unexpected adverse reactions occur
Operates specified equipment within the radiation therapy department. Records and verifies computer system, and IGRT and Portal vision system
Positions patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription. Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification of patient
What you will need:
ARRT registration in radiation therapy or be board eligible by completing the appropriate school of radiation therapy and completing registration within three months of hire
BLS certification
Excellent patient relations skills
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Location: Radiation Oncology Clinic, University of MN Medical Center - East Bank
Hours: Casual position
