We are building the most secure, reliable, scalable, and performant authentication and authorization platform on the planet. We enable every AWS customer to securely access their resources while powering generative AI workloads at global scale.

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Development Engineer who is passionate about transforming complex problems into simple, scalable, and maintainable solutions in the authentication and authorization space. You will own the design and delivery of systems that protect some of the most sensitive surfaces in AWS.

Key job responsibilities
Sr. SDEs collaborate across diverse teams, projects, and environments to have a firsthand impact on our global customer base. You’ll bring a passion for innovation, performance, cloud security, and distributed systems. You’ll also:

-Solve challenging technical problems, often ones not solved before, at every layer of the stack.
-Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
-Build high-quality, highly available, always-on products.
-Research implementations that deliver the best possible experiences for customers.
-Provide technical leadership for the team and collaborate across organizations.
-Coach and mentor junior engineers.

About the team
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) is at the foundation of every AWS service and every customer interaction with the cloud. Our team builds the systems that customers and services rely on to authenticate and authorize access across the world's most widely adopted cloud platform. We operate at massive scale, processing billions of requests per day with extremely high availability requirements.

We are building the most secure, reliable, scalable, and performant authentication and authorization platform on the planet. We enable every AWS customer to securely access their resources while powering

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
