Job/Position Summary:
The holder of this position will be in charge of the processing and characterization of isotopically enriched samples which will be studied with muon spin rotation and beta detected NMR. They will plan and help execute the experiments as well as analyze the data. They will also take a lead role in preparation of articles for publication in scientific journals.
Organizational Status:
The holder will be part of an international team of scientists doing experiments at major international labs in England, Switzerland and Canada where beams of polarized muons and radioactive nuclei are used to probe the local magnetic and electronic properties of novel materials. The holder of this position will report directly to the principle investigator.
Work Performed:
The holder will coordinate and take a lead role in the processing and characterization of isotopically enriched samples of quantum materials which will be studied with muon spin rotation and beta detected NMR. They will plan and help execute the experiments as well as analyze the data. They will also take a lead role in preparation of articles intended for publication in scientific journals.
Consequence of Error/Judgment:
The holder of this position will have a high level of autonomy. Major decisions will be made in consultation with the principle investigator and are made jointly.
