Due to the growth in our portfolio, we are strengthening our Legal Practice in the AURELIUS Task Force in the UK and are therefore looking for a
(Sr.) Legal Counsel (m/f/d)
AURELIUS’ Task Force is a close-knit team of advisors with deep functional expertise and long-standing management experience. They support value generation in portfolio companies through effective and hands-on project and change management in the areas of Procurement, Operations, Sales/Marketing, IT, Finance, Tax and Legal.

What you’ll do
Our work is intellectually challenging, business driven, exciting and fast-paced. We are looking for a hands-on, open-minded legal professional with a broad range of legal experience. Your role will involve a variety of general commercial and corporate advice including post-merger, restructuring, and litigation.
The internal Legal Practice as part of the AURELIUS Task Force works closely with investment, operations, and portfolio management teams along the investment life cycle, from Closing, to building and launching 100d- and transformation plans until Exit. The functional spectrum of the Legal Practice ranges from improving operational efficiency in legal processes, restructuring, coordinating legal workflows, resolving contentious matters, overseeing external counsel, supporting corporate governance, ensuring compliance with group standards and managing contract and document lifecycles.
In detail:
Design and implementation of Core Transformation Models (CTM) and standards along the PE life cycle
Design and implementation of future Target Operating Models
Ongoing legal support for portfolio companies
Elaboration of quick-check potential analysis post-acquisition
Design and implement the corporate and governance structure
Stakeholder management
Project-based leadership of practice teams and teams in portfolio companies
Establish group‑aligned legal policies and standards
Build and maintain a contract-, standard legal clause-, and template library for efficient legal operations
Support of Practice Partner in further practice development, incl. hiring, training and mentoring of team members
What you’ll need
Fully qualified lawyer (or equivalent legal degree) with strong commercial and corporate law experience
At least 5+ years relevant experience in corporate and commercial law, preferably as an inhouse-counsel, in another private equity company or in a reputed international law firm
Experience in private equity, M&A, or supporting portfolio companies is a strong advantage
Solid understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and contract management
Ability to work independently across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions in ambiguous situations while being able to contribute to cross-functional teams
Strong project‑management skills and comfort working in fast‑paced, complex transactions
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate legal concepts into operational guidance
Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with high attention to detail
Analytical and strategical thinking, result-oriented personality, highly developed sense of responsibility and strong teamwork capabilities
Sound and practical business judgment
Fluent in English, further language skills welcome (German is helpful, but not required)
