The Role:
We are looking for our next General Machinist (Day Shift - 7am to 3:30 pm.) to join our Machining / Manufacturing team. The General Machinist is responsible for producing high-precision components through the setup, operation, and maintenance of both manual and CNC machining equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex engineering documentation to ensure all parts meet exact specifications and quality standards.
This position is located in Windsor, Ontario.
Compensation:
The current hourly rate for this role is estimated to be $27-$29/hour.
What You’ll Do:
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to determine machining requirements and plan operations
• Set up, operate, and adjust manual and CNC machine tools (turning, milling, sawing, drilling, boring, grinding) for precision machining work
• Compute dimensions, tolerances, and layouts; measure and mark workpieces with a high degree of accuracy
• Perform fitting and assembly of machined components and subassemblies using appropriate tools
• Verify part quality using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM, etc.)
• Identify and report deviations from specifications and complete inspection documentation
• Perform basic preventive maintenance including lubrication checks, coolant monitoring, and equipment cleaning
• Inspect and maintain tooling, fixtures, and machine components to ensure optimal performance
• Follow all safety procedures including LOTO requirements and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace

What You’ll Need:
Education:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
• Machinist trade certification (General Machinist / Tool & Die Maker) considered an asset
Experience:
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
• Proven experience operating both manual and CNC machining equipment
• Strong experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Experience with precision measurement and inspection techniques
Work Environment
• This role spends 100% of the time in the plant environment
Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, lift up to 50lb, and work in loud environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
• This is a full-time position, 7am to 3:30 pm.
