Your area of focus.
As Sales Manager, you will lead the execution of the dealership's sales strategy across both new and pre-owned vehicle departments. You will be responsible for driving sales performance, coaching and developing your team, maximizing lead conversion, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience throughout every stage of the buying journey.
What drives your day-to-day?
- Execute short-, medium-, and long-term sales objectives for both new and pre-owned vehicle departments
- Develop and implement sales plans that support the achievement of monthly and annual performance goals
- Contribute to the development and execution of dealership marketing and advertising initiatives
- Drive the successful conversion of internet, showroom, and referral leads into vehicle sales
- Monitor key performance metrics including sales performance, lead conversion, and customer experience
- Build and develop a high-performing sales team capable of executing the dealership’s sales strategy
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to support retention and referral business
- Assist in developing strategies to support dealership growth and market share expansion
- Champion an exceptional customer experience throughout the entire sales journey
- Foster strong working relationships across all departments and stakeholders
- Deliver strong financial results while ensuring compliance with company policies and governance standards
- Promote professional development, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team
- Lead and champion a safe, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture
- Other duties as assigned
What are the must-haves?
- 3-5+ years of automotive sales leadership experience
- Current or recent experience as a Sales Manager or Assistant Sales Manager within a dealership environment
- Proven success leading a sales team in a volume-focused dealership
- Strong understanding of both new and pre-owned vehicle operations
- Experience with vehicle acquisition, purchasing from the public, and/or auction sourcing is considered a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of dealership sales processes, lead management, and customer retention strategies
- Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills
- Strong understanding of dealership financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end operations
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
- Experience working with CRM systems and automotive software platforms
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Adaptable, growth-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
