Clerical Associate - Combined Medical/Surgical Outpatient
Job Description
Accountabilities:
- Works with an interdisciplinary health care team to complete all clerical duties
- Excellent work record essential
- Utilizes excellent customer service skills when answering/directing telephone calls and booking appointments
- Accurately processes all physicians orders using order entry through Meditech
- Adhere to Osler privacy agreement
- Attendance for clerical/departmental staff meetings as requested
- Assists with extra clerical duties as assigned
- Data collection for all programs
- Functions within the health and safety guidelines to provide safe and supportive environment for all patients/families
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Medical terminology certificate required
- Computer literacy and previous experience with Microsoft Office (Excel is required and Project an asset)
- Successful completion of Meditech admissions and order entry programs essential
- Successful completion of automated scheduling essential
- Medical administration certificate or diploma preferred
- Keyboarding skills 45/wpm
- Evidence of ongoing education in office administration or other registration and booking processes
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Previous office experience required (booking and registration required)
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Data analysis experience preferred
- Able to prioritize and function effectively in a busy environment
- Demonstrated ability and experience through positive performance appraisals, work history and attendance records
Currently Days, 8 hours shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary:
Minimum: $26.31 per hour
Maximum: $28.49 per hour
