The Department of Ocean Science invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and dedicated individual to support Departmental administration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative and secretarial support to the Department, its programs, and committees
- Managing daily program operations, including budgeting, organizing field trips, and coordinating local and international outreach activities
- Supporting quality assurance processes and alumni engagement
- Planning and coordinating Departmental events and activities
- Supervising junior staff and assisting in managing front office operations
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Department Head, Program Directors, or Manager
The role may occasionally require work outside regular office hours and travel outside Hong Kong.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or above with at least 4 years of work experience in the higher education sector. Prior experience in program and office administration is definitely an advantage. The appointee should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines; and proficiency in IT applications. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
