Job Description

MULTIPLE OPENINGS!! 

Join Orono Schools this summer and help keep our campus beautiful for our students as a seasonal ground's worker!

Job Summary:

  • This is an 8 hour/day position, 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday, April 1 - October 31
  • Perform ground maintenance including lawn mowing, trimming, tree care, spraying, weeding and landscaping, as well as routine and project cleaning of assigned areas.
  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Focus on details and commitment to doing a good job required.
  • Experience grounds maintenance, cleaning in a commercial setting preferred.
  • Ability to get along with district employees and be courteous and helpful with students and general public.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and/or climb stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a variety of conditions and environments (e.g. dusty, wet, cold, hot, high humidity, noisy, indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in small spaces). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with outdoor grounds maintenance.
  • Mechanical experience with outdoor maintenance equipment.
  • Familiarity and comfortable with the operation of grounds and landscaping equipment and tools.

 

Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour.
