POSITION: Temporary Summer Position
Instructional Paraprofessional
Elementary and Middle School Summer Academy
LOCATION: East Middle School
DURATION:
Program Dates:
- June 23, 2026 - June 25, 2026 - Teacher PD and room set-up
- June 29, 2026 � July 23, 2026 � Student program
- Monday � Thursday only
- Staff hours: 7:45-11:45
- Student hours: 8:00-11:30
- Monday � Thursday only
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be "highly qualified" as defined in the No Child Left Behind Act
- Associates Degree or higher �or-
- 60 college credits �or-
- Passing score on the Work Keys test or the ETS Parapro Assessment
- Experience in working with young children in elementary and middle school instructional setting
- Good communication skills.
- Responsible, dependable and punctual.
- Ability to maintain accurate service logs.
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
- Works in small groups or one-on-one in the classroom setting.
- Document time, service provided and students serviced on a weekly lob.
- Provide support or learning strategies in the following academic areas: ELA, Math, and Science.

Pre-Program: Tuesday � Thursday
June 23 - June 25, 2026 - Teacher PD and planning
8:00 a.m. � 11:00 a.m.
Program: Monday � Thursday
June 29 - July 23, 2026
7:45 a.m. � 11:45 p.m.
Post-Program: Thursday, July 23, 2026
1:00 p.m. � 4:00 p.m.
SALARY/PAY RATE: $18.00 per hour (Summer Academy only)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.

OTHER:
Upon recommendation for employment, Section 1230g, as amended, of the Revised School Code requires all school employees to be electronically finger printed for the purpose of undergoing a criminal history background check. The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant. Cost for fingerprinting is approximately $70.00.
