Field Observation

1. Apply. Initiate the background/criminal history check process by completing and submitting a Field Experience application in our Career Portal at www.splendoraisd.org.

2. Upload Required Documents. This documentation must include your ID, your course syllabus, and verification of your current enrollment in a class requiring completion of classroom observations. It must contain your name and a school contact name, phone number, and email.

3. Clearance by HR. Once your application has been reviewed and you have been cleared to schedule Field Observations, HR will send you an email granting you permission to do observations and schedule them for you. 

4. Communicate. Contact the Secretary of Human Resources, LeeAnn Morrow, at (281) 689-4422 or [email protected] for questions or to confirm that your program information has been received and your volunteer application has been cleared to be on an SISD campus. Please provide information on the number, length, and timeframe of the observations or field experience being requested. It is your responsibility to document your visits/proof of visits.

General Guidelines

*Remember that all information on campus and in classrooms is confidential.

*Observations during state testing periods will not be approved.

*You may not observe in the classroom of your own children.

*Approved observation time frames are by semester and do not extend into the following semester.

*Professional dress is required for all observers.

*Respect the decision of the campus administrator regarding which classroom and teachers you will be assigned to observe.

*Please be courteous to the campus staff assisting you.

In the best interest of our students and staff, opportunities for observations may be limited based on the volume of observations requested. Thank you for your interest in completing your observations in Splendora ISD.
