POSITION SUMMARY
The GRAD Advisor is a key member of the GRAD team, supporting Project GRAD's mission to improve lives in low-income communities by helping students develop and achieve their educational and career goals. This role provides high-quality college and career readiness programming, advising, and case management to individuals and families through GRADcaf� at all service sites, including Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success in Harris County.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience required.
- Demonstrated success supporting young adults in college and career readiness and postsecondary achievement.
- Experience managing partnerships and collaborative projects across organizations and programs preferred.

- Strong integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Google Workspace.
- Experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver's License, proof of liability insurance, and ability to travel to various service sites as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Mental Demands
- Work is performed in both office and community-based environments, including schools, GRADcaf� locations, and virtual settings.
- Requires frequent interaction with students, families, school staff, and community partners in person, by phone, and via virtual platforms.
- Regular local travel between service sites and partner locations is required.
- May require evening and weekend hours based on program needs and event schedules.
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer use are required for advising, documentation, and virtual meetings.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry materials or supplies up to 25 pounds for events, workshops, or program activities.
- Must have the ability to move between offices, classrooms, and community spaces as needed.
- Work environment may involve moderate noise levels during workshops, events, or group advising sessions.
- Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with student records and sensitive information in accordance with organizational policies and FERPA guidelines.
