Position Summery:
The Server & Cybersecurity Specialist is a cross-functional technical position responsible for supporting the district's server infrastructure, identity and access management systems, backup and disaster recovery platforms, and daily cybersecurity operations.
This role ensures the availability, integrity, and security of enterprise systems that support instruction, operations, and data services. By combining systems administration and cybersecurity responsibilities, the position provides efficient, coordinated technical support while maintaining strong security practices.
The Server & Cybersecurity Specialist works closely with the Network Engineer and the Windows Server Analyst, serving as a key operational resource across both domains.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 1�3 years of experience in systems administration, identity management, or cybersecurity support.
- Demonstrated experience supporting:
- Server environments
- Directory and identity systems
- Endpoint or security monitoring tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a K�12 school district or public-sector environment.
- Experience with:
- VMware / Hyper-V
- Azure or cloud platforms
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Endpoint protection and email security platforms
- Relevant certifications (preferred, not required):
- CompTIA Security+, Network+
- Microsoft or Azure certifications
Training and Skills:
Strong technical aptitude across systems and security domains.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
High attention to detail and security awareness.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
