Elementary Special Education Life Skills Teacher
Job Description
This position provides specialized academic & behavioral instruction to students with emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & implement IEPs aligned with students' functional and academic goals;
- Use evidence-based behavior intervention strategies;
- Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Create a structured, safe, and supportive classroom setting;
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and district special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education and EC-6 Generalist;
- ESL Certification;
- Preferred experience in self-contained or alternative education settings.
