Job Description

This position provides specialized academic & behavioral instruction to students with emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & implement IEPs aligned with students' functional and academic goals;
  • Use evidence-based behavior intervention strategies;
  • Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Create a structured, safe, and supportive classroom setting;
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and district special education regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education and EC-6 Generalist;
  • ESL Certification;
  • Preferred experience in self-contained or alternative education settings.
