JOB DESCRIPTION 

Position Title: Secondary Instructional Technology Coach

Location: NCHS/CJHS/EJHS

Department: Building Personnel

Reports to: Director of Secondary Education, Director of Accountability and Assessment

FLSA Class: Exempt

 

SUMMARY

The Instructional Technology Coach improves student performance by partnering with teachers to integrate technology meaningfully into curriculum and instruction. This role leads professional development, advises on software and technology planning, and supports the district's vision for effective, ethical instructional technology use. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze student and program data to evaluate effectiveness and inform strategic planning
  • Collaborate with teachers to design district tools, assessments, and learning environments aligned to program and district goals
  • Create technology solutions and training materials that support emerging tools and enhance student learning
  • Train certificated and classified staff on instructional and district-standard software to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Research instructional technology trends and make recommendations to district administrators
  • Participate in developing and monitoring districtwide guidelines for ethical, effective technology use
  • Prepare documentation including user guides, lesson plans, reports, and recommendations
  • Maintain files, records, licenses, and databases in compliance with mandated requirements
  • Oversee assigned projects and program components to ensure timely, compliant service delivery
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and trainings as needed to carry out job responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) years teaching experience in grades 6-12.
  • Professional Educator License
  • Master degree preferred
  • Leadership attributes: collaborative, excellent communicator, superior knowledge of grades 6-12 curriculum, skilled in leading task forces, flexible, innovative.

CONTRACT:

 

  • UFEA contract
  • 180 day contract (plus up to 10 additional days in the summer for training and professional development)


COMPENSATION:

Fully Board Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision available.

Per the negotiated contract between McLean County Unit 5 and the United Five Education Association, for the 2026-2027 school year the starting salary range for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree is $42,640-$52,319 and is based on Education and Certified Teaching experience. For candidates with a Master's Degree, the range is $47,756-$61,017and is based on Education and Certified Teaching experience.
