ESY LPN / Special Education Paraprofessional - 3 Temporary Positions (#130599; 130602; 130628)

VVACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking individuals to fill temporary LPN / Special Education Paraprofessional position for the Extended School Year, location to be determined.
 
Orientation: June 1, 2026
Date: June 2, 2026 June 30, 2026 *No classes on June 19th, 2026
Staff Hours: 8:30am-12:45pm (PNR); 7:45am-12:00pm (BHS); 8:45am-12:30pm (MEC) 

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the teacher in a variety of semi-instructional tasks; to work in general and special educational settings, providing support to a student or students with significant disabilities and health concerns within the classroom and around the building; must be able to assist with communication, scheduling, and modifications of curriculum. Student may require toileting, feeding, following the health care plan in conjunction with the building nurse, and lifting.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists the Teacher in a variety of semi-instructional tasks.
• Assists and collaborates with the building nurse to implement student health care plan(s)
• Works in a variety of settings to provide support to a student or students with significant disabilities within the classroom and around the building.
• Assists with communication, scheduling, and modifications of curriculum.
• Perform all duties as requested by the Principal and Assistant Principal

 
EDUCATION 

• Must have a Paraprofessional, Teaching or Substitute Teaching License registered with the Will County Regional Office of Education
• Current CPR certification is required
• LPN certification/background is required

 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of curriculum materials and instructional techniques
• Initiative to follow through with assigned tasks
• Effective communication skills
• Should serve as a role model for all students and perform their duties to create an environment that is conducive to providing students an enhanced and engaged learning opportunity
• A physical exam and negative T.B. test are required
• Ability to maneuver students

PAY SCALE AND BENEFIT DISCLOSURE: Salary is in accordance with the Paraprofessional Salary Schedule.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:  Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature, noise and hazards are relatively nonexistent. Students may require toileting, feeding and lifting.
