Job Description

NOTICE OF POSITION--Service Personnel
 
 
Position Title:

  • Special Education Aide Intervener/Bus Aide
  • Mountain View Elementary/Middle School

 
Job Description:

  • Work one on one with deaf/blind students.
  • Assist teacher in instructional activities as directed
  • Share in responsibility of protecting students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Perform limited, rotating supervisory duties not related to instruction
  • Provide assistance for transportation to and from school and for special school events.
  • Positive work habits.
  • Perform duties efficiently and productively.
  • Serve as a member of the educational team to provide direct support to deaf/blind students as indicated in the students Individual Education Plan.
  • Schedule to be determined by Special Education Director and building Administrator.

In addition to above, candidate must be physically capable of lifting and supervising children as well as special training, if training needed, must be willing to attend training concerning health care matters and of basic/specialized health care procedures and must maintain confidentiality of student's protected educational and health related information. Other duties as assigned by administration as needed. 

Qualifications:

  • Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Must meet qualifications for aide, pass state aide test; pass criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must have or be willing to get First Aid/CPR certification and Food Handler's certification. 

 
Salary/Effective Date:

  • Base Salary $25,740, for 200 days
  • Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule, plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
