Qualifications

1. Currently hold or previously held classification of Custodian, or passage of state competency exam for Custodian
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

1. Dust, clean, polish fixtures, woodwork, and equipment
2. Wash windows and dust blinds
3. Clean restrooms and replenish with supplies
4. Sweep, mop, wax, and polish floors, stairs, corridors, and courts using broom, mop, and buffer
5. Clean rugs and carpets with vacuum cleaner
6. Dispose of trash and waste materials
7. Clean doors, door facings, and walls with disinfectant
8. Assist in moving equipment
9. Check and replace light bulbs
10. Sweep sidewalks around buildings
11. Report safety hazards within and around building
12. List and report repairs needed
13. Store equipment
14. Keep stock of inventory and request supplies as needed
15. Perform minor repairs and maintain equipment
16. Clean shower rooms and gym
17. Help remove snow and clear sidewalk of ice
18. Operate and maintain: weed eater, lawn mower, floor scrubber, floor buffer, and vacuum cleaner
19. Arrange table and chairs for breakfast and lunch
20. Secure the building at night
21. Operate hand and small power tools
22. Prepare facilities for activities and clean up after the activities
23. Shampoo carpets
24. Perform inspections for fire extinguishers and emergency lighting

25. Clean ceiling and restroom vents
     

    Working Conditions:
    Location: Spencer Elementary School

    Regular Time: 7:45 am - 3:45 pm
