We are looking for a Construction Manager Trainee to join our team in the Birmingham, Alabama metro area. This position will assist the Construction Manager in the completion of homes to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.


Essential Functions:

  1. Oversee community in Construction Manager’s (CM) absence (i.e. weekly meetings, vacation, illness, homeowner orientations, etc.)
  • Meet with County/City Inspectors if builder is unavailable
  • Call in inspections in Construction Manager’s absence
  • Send the request to move schedules to Area Manager
  1. Assist CM with punch-out of homes for QC walks and Homeowner sign offs.
  2. Meet with and sign off on deliveries of materials when needed
  3. Water lawns (seasonal) 
  4. Attend Quality Assurance walk and follow up to ensure Quality Assurance checklist is completed
  5. Assist with Homeowner Orientation Sign off 
  6. Keep all drive barricades in place
  7. Unlock and lock homes daily
  8. Assist CM in assuring all punch out and homeowner walk items are signed off and completed BEFORE closing.
  9. Oversee building and painting of permit boards
  10. Post building permit cards
  11. Adjust/clean out water meter boxes so municipality will set meters
  12. Aid CM to ensure job site cleanliness
  13. Assist with any community maintenance as need (mowing lawn)
  14. Attend and perform inspections

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: High School, College: Construction Management degree helpful. 


Experience: Residential construction or similar industry is helpful.
