Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, Multilingual Multicultural Education Department (MMED), the specialist, assigned to a region, will collaborate with the MMED to implement standards-based instruction across content areas aligned to the California content frameworks. The specialist will use a multi-tiered approach to instruction, Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Pedagogy (CLRP), and evidence-based strategies to build teacher capacity and ensure mastery of core instruction, acceleration, and enrichment for multilingual academic language learners, which include Emergent Bilingual (EB), reclassified fluent English proficient (RFEP), migrant and refugee education, dual language, American Indian, and Indigenous students.
