Summary:

Performs cardiac echocardiograms as ordered by the physician.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Includes the following but other duties may be assigned:

  • Prioritize and evaluate patient orders
  • Prepares patient and explains procedures to patient; answers questions carefully and completely
  • Perform diagnostic echocardiogram procedure in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physician
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment in appropriate operating condition
  • Maintain examination rooms and work areas. Order and stock all ultrasound and vascular lab supplies
  • Maintain accurate department records, reports and files as directed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Required:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program
  • RDMS
  • Experience in cardiovascular pathology
  • BLS/CPR certification
