Job Summary:
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll be operating a range of heavy machinery, including skid steer, end loaders, excavators, and dozers. This position requires working in noisy environments with exposure to extreme temperatures and involves physically demanding tasks within our tire recycling facility and in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate skid steer and forklifts to move materials and perform tasks within the yard.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and tires throughout the yard.
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and machinery safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Monitor/Work on the TDF line
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience operating skid steers, loaders and forklifts.
- 2 years of skid steer operation
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive in work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time during the shift
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in operating heavy machinery (skid steers and forklifts).
Education and Experience:
- Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Forklift experience preferred
- Bobcat experience preferred
- Front Loader experience
