The Generation Team has an immediate opening for a E&I Journeyman at our Ocotillo Power Plant. The E&I Journeyman will support the safe, efficient and cost-effective production of electrical energy by performing Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance work. Writes and reviews work scope and hazard/risk assessment of work assignments. May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Successfully complete E&I Apprenticeship or demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge.
- Must qualify as Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman or equivalent
Additional Requirements
- Must live within Reasonable Distance (one (1) hour) from Headquarters
- Must successfully pass the mechanical aptitude test (MASS)
- Pass APS aptitude and qualifying skills tests (written/hands-on)
- Reasonable and necessary overtime will be required.
- Shift work may be required.
- Interview may be conducted
- This position requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300 lbs or less
Additional Information
This position requires demonstrated proficiency in both electrical and instrumentation skill sets. The successful candidate must be capable of performing work across both disciplines to meet the full scope of job responsibilities.
All candidates must successfully complete and achieve passing scores on both the electrical and instrumentation skills assessments. Candidates who do not pass both assessments will not be considered qualified for the combined role.
In the event that a candidate passes only one assessment, and provided there are no other fully qualified applicants, the Company may, at its discretion, offer a position limited to either the electrical or instrumentation function.
Candidates placed in a position limited to either the electrical or instrumentation function must demonstrate proficiency in the remaining skill set and successfully complete the required assessment within twelve (12) months in order to be eligible for placement into the combined role. Failure to meet this requirement within the specified timeframe may result in ineligibility for the combined position.
