Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Hospitalist/Intensivist Practice Coordinator role serves to provide support to the Hospitalist and Intensivist program within Hunt Regional Healthcare.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Effective written and verbal communication and negotiating skills with all levels of internal and external customers.
Must demonstrate positive relationship building with co-workers, medical staff, patients, and other members of the clinical care team.
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively implement changes
Preferred Qualification
Solid computer skills
Solid customer service skills
Ability to multi task
Solid organizational skills
Experience in medical office environment
Ability to work in fast paced, busy environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required to read paper and electronic medical records.
Required to key information using a computer monitor and keyboard.
Due to the nature of healthcare services, it may become necessary to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift or
schedule to ensure adequate care of patients and to maintain service to the community.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
1. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.
2. Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct.
3. Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
4.Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
5. Complies with all HIPAA standards.
6. Acts as a liaison between hospitalists, intensivists, and other hospital departments.
7. Develops and communicates daily rounding schedules to hospital units.
8. Ensures continuity of care through the daily schedule.
9. Ensures providers submit anticipated discharges for the following day.
10. Compiles daily census reports and provides end-of-month reports to payroll.
11. Assists in the development of the call schedule.
12. Assists the billing department in obtaining required information from providers.
13. Disseminates the call schedule to various hospital departments.
14. Manages and enters provider time into the payroll system.
15. Orders supplies for the department.
16. Monitors incoming faxes and assists in obtaining and disseminating required information based upon the needs of the fax.
17. Answers telephone calls and assisting in obtaining and disseminating required information based upon the needs of the call.
18. Maintains the TxEver Death Registry for the hospitalist group and assists in ensuring required tasks are completed in a timely manner.
19. Communicates effectively (both written and oral) with individuals and groups of various backgrounds in high-stress situations.
20. Manages multiple changing priorities effectively and maintains exceptional customer service under stressful demands.
21. Assists in collecting and maintaining physician documents that may be required for credentialing.
22. Protects patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information
23. Maintains an open line of communication with all team members.
24.Maintains consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
25 Provides support to physician and co-workers in general administrative tasks
