Job Description

Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a Licensed Structural Engineer to join our Houston, Texas office. As a Structural Engineer you will be responsible for assisting and/or leading efforts in the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for various concurrent projects. Project types may include heavy civil projects such as dams, flood and retaining walls, water and wastewater treatment facilities, water transmission including aerial pipe crossings, routine and signature bridge designs as well as architectural projects such as low and mid-rise commercial, educational, and industrial buildings, and support of landscape architectural designs.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead production teams for analysis and preparation of technical reports for diverse projects.
  • Provide support in managing projects, including maintaining schedules, tracking project financials, and preparing monthly status reports, with an interest in directly interfacing with clients.
  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients, both internal and external.
  • Work independently as well as oversee the work of teams of professionals and analysts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
  • Exhibit strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills, and provide direction and mentorship to junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE)
  • 4+ years of structural design experience

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
  • Structural Engineer License: SE
