This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX.

 Position Overview 

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Material Handler Associate I to support manufacturing and warehouse operations by safely receiving, transporting, storing, staging, and delivering materials throughout the production environment. This position is responsible for maintaining material flow, inventory accuracy, and warehouse organization to ensure uninterrupted production operations. The Material Handler Associate works closely with Production Control, Warehouse, Inventory Control, and Production teams to ensure materials are available where and when needed.

Base Pay is $22

Shift Schedules

  • 2nd Shift – Nights:
    Monday–Thursday, 6:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. (4x10 schedule) with a 10% shift differential and paid lunch and breaks
  • 3rd Shift – Weekends:
    Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (3x12 schedule) with a 20% shift differential and paid lunch and breaks
  • Flexibility: Night and weekend shifts may be available with shift differential pay depending on business needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Receive, store, stage, and deliver materials, parts, and assemblies to designated production and warehouse locations.
  • Accurately identify materials, locations, lot numbers, and quantities.
  • Maintain inventory location discipline and ensure materials are stored in designated locations.
  • Perform material transfers and inventory transactions using warehouse and inventory systems.
  • Support production operations by delivering materials according to established priorities and schedules.
  • Coordinate closely with Production Control regarding material availability, shortages, and urgent production requirements.
  • Communicate material status clearly to supervisors and Production Control personnel.
  • Escalate inventory discrepancies, shortages, damaged materials, or material flow interruptions promptly.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory audits and reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor material storage areas and identify opportunities to improve organization, flow, and efficiency.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities related to material handling and inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with receiving, shipping, kitting, packaging, and warehouse support activities as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, inventory control, material handling, or related environments preferred.
  • Current forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification prior to assignment.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to accurately identify materials, locations, and inventory quantities.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using inventory tracking systems, scanners, or warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse personnel, and production teams.
  • Accountability for assigned work areas, inventory, and daily responsibilities.
  • Adaptability to changing production priorities and operational requirements.
  • Understanding of how material availability directly impacts production schedules and business performance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in aerospace, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, inventory control, or material handling environments.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, warehouse management, or inventory control systems.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Experience performing cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of material flow, warehouse organization, and inventory control best practices.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the shift.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive tasks, data entry, and computer work.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, reach, and balance as required to perform job duties.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry items weighing up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in, on, around, and in proximity to machinery, equipment, material handling devices, and production tooling.
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Ability to visually inspect materials, inventory labels, documentation, and production information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Relocation Support (If You Accept)

  • Up to $5,000 in temporary housing (first 3 months)
  • $1,050/month stipend to support living arrangements after 1st working month on an ongoing basis
