Job Description
At U.S. Bank, our Risk Management organization is redefining how risk is anticipated, measured, and mitigated through technology, data, and intelligent automation. The Innovation and Transformation Lead within the CAO organization sits at the center of this evolution—owning enterprise‑scale initiatives that simplify operations, reduce risk exposure, and deliver measurable financial impact. This is a senior, highly visible role for a proven technology leader who thrives in complexity, partners confidently with executives, and translates strategy into governed, scalable solutions across a large financial institution.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and advance high-impact, AI-enabled transformation efforts that simplify work, manage risk, and deliver measurable business results, while working within established governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with risk process and integration partners to streamline workflows and introduce automation where it adds clear value.
- Shape and maintain an innovation roadmap aligned to Risk Management & Compliance priorities, with focus on faster cycle times, stronger data foundations, and better connectivity across teams.
- Work closely with Enterprise Technology and Data partners to translate risk and business needs into scalable, well-governed technology and data solutions.
- Coordinate and oversee the RM&C AI pipeline, partnering with the AI Center of Excellence to enable practical use cases such as workflow automation, Copilot integration, and vendor AI capabilities.
- Manage the RM&C strategic investment and change portfolio, supporting prioritization, coordination, and regular approval cycles.
- Support technology investment governance by assisting with policy adherence, contract reviews, budget planning, vendor invoicing, and ongoing portfolio oversight.
- Participate in vendor evaluations, RFPs, and statements of work, serving as a technical translator between RM&C stakeholders and technology teams as needed.
- Oversee data platforms that support multiple risk disciplines, including development of data pipelines, business logic, and shared data assets.
- Enable data visualization and low-code / no-code solutions (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Power Apps) that support reporting, analysis, and decision-making across RM&C.
- Develop data quality metrics, dashboards, and insight reporting to surface performance trends and risk program signals.
- Support development of advanced analytics and predictive tools (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing) to generate actionable insights related to risk, customers, and operational efficiency.

- Experience owning and governing complex investment portfolios, including prioritization, financial justification, vendor management, and executive‑level decision forums
- Advanced knowledge of data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, and emerging technologies, with sound judgment in scaling practical solutions versus experimentation
- Track record of building, leading, and developing high‑performing, cross‑disciplinary teams
