Job Requirements:
The Logistics & Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall function of warehouse operations, inventory management, dispatch planning, transportation coordination, and ensuring smooth material flow to support plant operations and customer requirements. The role includes day-to-day management of warehouse activities, logistics coordination, and supervision of warehouse and dispatch teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage overall warehouse and logistics operations to ensure smooth inbound and outbound material movement.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through proper stock control, cycle counting, reconciliation, and system monitoring.
- Monitor and improve OTIF (On Time In Full) delivery performance to meet customer expectations.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Sales teams for timely dispatches and material availability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and warehouse operational procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse space utilization, material handling, and logistics costs.
- Monitor daily dispatch activities and ensure timely vehicle placement, loading, and shipment documentation.
- Handle transportation planning and coordination with transporters for efficient delivery management.
- Analyze logistics and warehouse KPIs such as OTIF, inventory accuracy, dispatch efficiency, freight costs, and turnaround time.
- Ensure proper maintenance and control of warehouse records, ERP transactions, and inventory documentation.
- Manage non-moving, slow-moving, and damaged inventory through corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate closely with Quality, Production, and Customer Service teams to minimize customer complaints related to dispatch and material handling.
- Lead monthly review meetings with key stakeholders regarding warehouse and logistics performance.
- Support audits related to warehouse operations, inventory management, and statutory compliance.
- Responsible for manpower planning, employee training, performance evaluation, discipline, and team development within warehouse and logistics functions.
- Ensure effective implementation of SOPs, 5S, FIFO/FEFO practices, and warehouse safety standards.
- Monitor warehouse equipment and ensure timely maintenance for uninterrupted operations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports related to logistics, inventory, and warehouse performance.
- Manage third-party logistics service providers and ensure adherence to agreed service levels.
- Support business continuity and operational efficiency during peak dispatch periods and plant requirements.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- B.E. / B. Tech / MBA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field.
- 10–14 years of experience in Logistics & Warehouse operations in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Experience in manufacturing industries such as Glass, Ceramic, Insulation, Chemical, FMCG, or related sectors would be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP/SAP systems, and inventory control processes.
- Strong experience in logistics planning, dispatch management, transportation coordination, and OTIF monitoring.
- Experience in inventory management, cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and warehouse optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making capability.
- Experience in KPI reporting, operational MIS preparation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of safety standards, warehouse compliance, and statutory requirements.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP/ERP systems, and reporting tools.
