We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Lead to join our Auckland‑based team, leading end to end recruitment and managing two Talent Acquisition Advisors. Reporting to the North Island Talent Acquisition Manager, you’ll own end‑to‑end recruitment for your portfolio and lead your small team to deliver high‑quality hiring at pace. You’ll work directly with regional leaders as a trusted recruitment partner, lifting hiring manager capability and making sure our candidate experience is consistent, fair and straight up. You’ll get out into the market – from schools and community partners to industry events – to build talent pools that keep our critical roles covered. You’ll also play a key part in national TA initiatives and projects, helping us keep improving how we attract and hire people.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end recruitment across your portfolio, from workforce planning, sourcing and screening through to offers and onboarding

  • Lead, coach and support two Talent Acquisition Advisors, setting clear expectations and creating a flat, low‑ego, ideas‑first team culture

  • Build strong, straight‑up partnerships with hiring managers, providing expert recruitment advice and coaching them to make confident hiring decisions

  • Drive proactive sourcing and talent pooling using multiple channels – including LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, community partners and schools

  • Carry out the national TA strategy in the Auckland region – including social, community and diversity initiatives that strengthen our talent pipelines and brand

  • Analyse market and recruitment data to spot trends, challenges and opportunities, and turn these into practical action plans for you and your team

  • Lead or contribute to TA projects and process improvements that lift quality, efficiency and customer experience

  • Represent Fulton Hogan at careers expos and events

You’re a team‑first operator who leads from the front, holds high standards and genuinely cares about getting the right people into the right roles. You’ll bring:

  • 8+ years’ experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, including business partnering with hiring managers

  • Experience leading, coaching or mentoring others

  • Proven success in proactive talent sourcing and talent pooling across multiple channels

  • A track record of collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver great hiring outcomes

  • Strong organisational skills and sharp attention to detail, able to juggle high volumes and competing priorities without dropping the ball

  • Clear, confident communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to influence and coach at all levels

  • Strong technical skills and the ability to quickly pick up new systems, tools and processes

  • A self‑motivated, proactive approach, comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider TA team

  • Experience recruiting in construction or civil infrastructure is desirable (but not essential if you’re keen to learn the sector)
