We are looking for Housekeeping & Laundry Team Members who can work PRN (As Needed) who are professional, have an optimistic demeanor, communicates well and work in a friendly and energetic manner. Achieves day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping & Laundry department in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or Supervisor. Responsible for facility maintenance to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout the facility.
Housekeeping Responsibilities
- Complete routine and emergency cleaning of resident rooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, entrances, and outdoor spaces
- Clean and disinfect floors, fixtures, furnishings, windows, vents, and horizontal surfaces
- Complete floor and carpet care, including stripping, waxing, and machine cleaning as assigned
- Restock supplies (soap, paper goods, cleaning products) and properly store equipment
- Prepare rooms for new admissions, transfers, and discharges, including terminal and isolation cleaning
- Coordinate with maintenance and nursing staff to ensure cleanliness, safety, and infection prevention standards
Laundry Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry and linens according to state and facility requirements
- Properly handle soiled and isolation laundry | Complete stain treatment as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry equipment and work areas
Safety Compliance & Resident Rights
- Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and PPE procedures
- Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality (HIPAA)
- Report accidents, hazards, missing property, equipment issues, or policy concerns promptly
Administrative & Team Responsibilities
- Follow assigned schedules and work assignments
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and departments
- Participate in required training, meetings, and in-service education
Education
- Preferred | High School Diploma or Equivalent

Schedule | Hours
- PRN (As Needed) | Will be called to cover for staff who cannot make their shift(s), are on vacation | This includes weekends
Specific Requirements
- Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism
- Interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of laundry areas, for sanitation, order, and safety
- Work harmoniously with other personnel as well as being able to handle residents based on the maturity level which they are currently functioning
- Seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing laundry practices
- Follow written and verbal instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
Physical | Sensory Requirements
- Able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Utilize sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel
- Able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility
- Able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
