Overview
We’re seeking a Test Engineer (Journeyman) to support a space weather satellite mission operations program, focused on integration and validation of mission-critical systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in testing methodologies and a passion for ensuring system reliability in a complex, high-impact environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support integration and testing of satellite mission operations systems
- Execute test plans across telemetry & command (T&C), data operations, and mission applications
- Perform trending and analysis to validate system performance and identify anomalies
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using modern testing frameworks
- Utilize test management tools to track test cases, defects, and overall system quality
- Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and support resolution efforts
- Collaborate with software, systems, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in test engineering or integration testing
- Foundational knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Experience with telemetry & command systems, data operations, or mission-based applications
- Hands-on experience with test tools such as Zephyr Scale (or similar test management tools)
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cucumber and Cypress
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for system validation and defect identification
- Basic programming or scripting experience (e.g., JavaScript, Python)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting satellite or space-based systems
- Familiarity with integration testing in mission-critical or real-time environments
- Exposure to DevOps or CI/CD pipelines for automated testing
- Experience working in DoD, aerospace, or regulated environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
