About the Role:
Callen-Lorde is seeking an Applications Informaticist (AI) to support and optimize our clinical and operational technology systems, including Epic EHR and other key platforms. This role is essential in ensuring our systems are efficient, integrated into workflows, and aligned with our mission to provide high-quality, inclusive healthcare.
The AI partners across departments to analyze workflows, improve system performance, and enhance the end-user experience. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with internal teams, vendors, and leadership to drive continuous improvement.
As an Applications Informaticist at Callen-Lorde, you key responsibilities will include:
- Analyze workflows and business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend system-based solutions
- Serve as a liaison between end-users, Technology teams, and vendors to support application performance and enhancements
- Provide technical support for Epic and other clinical, operational, and administrative systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Configure, maintain, and optimize applications to ensure alignment with clinical and operational workflows
- Monitor system performance, data integrity, and compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards
- Support system upgrades, implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop reports, dashboards, and insights to inform decision-making and performance tracking
- Train end-users and create clear documentation to support system adoption and best practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize system enhancements and improve user experience
Work Schedule:
Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience within a hospital or clinic IT and/or HIT setting.
- Deep understanding of clinical, operations, and revenue cycle workflows and optimization.
- 5+ years of experience working with Epic or similar health record.
- Revenue cycle experience preferred.
- Epic Ambulatory credentialing or certification.
- Proven ability to map business processes and workflows, conducting gap analysis and documenting requirements, ensuring requirements are developed and tested.
- Proven ability to design and lead complex data management and analysis projects, working with professionals with a variety of skills and backgrounds.
- Experience with SQL, Crystal Reports, and Tableau preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to diverse users and develop effective working relationships.
- Proficiency with healthcare and enterprise applications, EHR systems, and supporting databases.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to identify system trends and areas for improvement.
- Experience working collaboratively with clinical, operational, and IT teams.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with database systems and MS Project, MS Suite, as well as knowledge and experience working with electronic medical records systems preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse teams.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in healthcare technology training or working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.
- Medical, dental, and/or behavioral health background.
- Experience with other HIT systems, such as Artera, Azara, Healthix, Abridge, Ritefax, XVWeb.
- Experience with project management tools, such as Asana.
