Summary: A cross-functional communications role responsible for executing external marketing and communications for Nutcracker Market, including content creation, media relations, digital channels, and campaign support, as well as marketing support for Houston Ballet publications and materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned;
- Support Nutcracker Market marketing and public relations strategy and execution in partnership with external agencies, including media outreach, press materials, story development, influencer engagement, event marketing, advertising campaigns (print, broadcast, and digital), and sponsorship/underwriting fulfillment
- Develop, produce, and distribute Nutcracker Market marketing communications across channels, including email marketing, social media, website updates, and campaign materials
- Manage Nutcracker Market digital presence, including social media platforms and website content updates
- Create and maintain marketing collateral, including media kits, brochures, fact sheets, key messaging, and publications (e.g., Nutcracker Market News, Houston Ballet News, TuTu Times)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and messaging, and advise on content and design strategies to support campaign goals
- Track, organize, and archive photography, media coverage, and creative assets for marketing and publicity use
- Support planning and execution of events, including on-site media relations and communications coordination
- Support public-facing initiatives, including coordinating speaking engagements and preparing spokesperson materials
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, including coordination with external vendors such as printers and agency partners
- Provide cross-functional support to Marketing and Communications teams on publications and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum REQUIRED Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit marketing/communications
- Experience managing or supporting multi-channel communications (email, social media, web, and print)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting marketing or promotional content
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

- Strong attention to detail and design sensibility
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams and respond to feedback
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and adapt to shifting priorities
- Experience working in nonprofit, arts, or event-based organizations

Work Environment:
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.

- Regular (Monday – Friday), as well as on weekends as necessary
