Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Residential (Per Diem)
Schedule: 5-7 hours a week
Our Residential program is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric services to youth who are enrolled in our Residential program. This position will work onsite and report to the Executive Clinical Director of Residential and Foster Care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric services to youth enrolled in the program.
- Provide consultation to staff on diagnostic and treatment questions.
- Prescribe medications, monitor, and review of drug regimen for enrolled individuals.
- Participate in quality assurance activities.
- Provide on-site medication evaluations and reviews for enrolled participants and may also provide tele-health services as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
- Must be fully licensed Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York
- Required; Board Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Must not need Physician supervision.
- CPR Certification
- Must have valid NYS driver’s license.
You Have, or are willing to get:
- National Provider Identification (NPI) - issued by the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). All electronic prescriptions in NYS require an NPI. Claims processing functions also require the NPI of nurse practitioners and physicians.
- Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number – issued by the United States Department of Justice Department DEA to nurse practitioners and physicians to prescribe controlled substances. DEA registration must be renewed every three years for those issued a prescriber registration.
- NYS Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (NYS DOH BNE) registration – issued by the NYS DOH BNE to nurse practitioners and physicians to prescribe controlled substances. NYS DOH BNE registration must be renewed every two years for those issued a prescriber registration.
- NYS Medicaid Enrollment - in cases in which a Prescriber is prescribing to a NYS Medicaid enrolled client. Revalidation must occur at least every five years.
