Through design simplicity, wireless medical informatics and a novel integrated, on-demand water purification system, Tablo is essentially a dialysis clinic on wheels that delivers easier, lower cost dialysis. A U.S. clinical trial is underway to enable the use of Tablo at home. 

Position Overview

The Sr./Manager of Commercial Marketing will own the development of the marketing and market development strategies required to effectively commercialize and drive utilization the Tablo Hemodialysis system. This position will be responsible for developing and executing multi-channel marketing strategies, product launch plans, and engage strategically with the sales force and key customers to build the Outset Medical brand.

Essential Job Functions

  • Marketing planning. Develop annual multi-channel marketing plans for assigned customer segments, defining key commercial objectives and programs/resources needed to deliver on objectives. Include analyses of key stakeholder groups, competitor analyses, business trends and market opportunities. Execute programs throughout the year, measuring impact and adherence to budgets.
  • Market development and demand generation programs. Develop and implement effective market development and demand generation programs via various methods of distribution (web, social media, email, display ad, symposium, peer to peer) and associated collateral materials, both at the national and local account level. 
  • Messaging, campaign and collateral development. Refine existing and develop new marketing messages, campaigns and collateral for key customer segments to drive Tablo adoption and utilization. Maintain central repository of key messages and proof points for assigned customer segments, updating as needed. These may include clinical, economic and product messages targeted to audiences.
  • Support training and education efforts. Work closely with training and education team, product marketing and sales leadership to develop and implement continuing education for both internal field and customer audiences, aligned to marketing messaging and objectives. 
  • Sales enablement and support. Develop strong relationships with the field team and create resources – messaging, tools, programs, processes, sales meetings – that improve sales effectiveness. Track utilization of resources and assess for impact. Provide regular field updates on marketing efforts and commercial updates. Support CRM system implementation, with a focus on marketing tool effectiveness and a sales resource portal. Serve as key point of contact for field force.
  • Regular performance updates and measurement. Participate in regular marketing and sales reviews – measure impact of programs with KPIs and other metrics, including qualitative field and customer feedback. Present impact of marketing programs on sales pipeline. Identify any gaps, refining and adjusting programs as needed to increase impact.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, but an MBA is strongly preferred
  • Previous work experience in a similar role in healthcare is strongly preferred, with an emphasis on experience in ‘downstream marketing’ and market development roles
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading and working on cross-functional teams
  • Must be energetic and optimistic! As well as self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic and highly accountable
  • Must have excellent communication – written and oral, and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, prioritize assignments and multi-task
  • Proven experience in creating a strategic work plan and executing programs to achieve specific goals
  • Experienced in working cross-functionally with people with diverse backgrounds 
  • Must have excellent computer skills with an emphasis on creating effective presentations; able to work in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
