Position: Release Manager
Location: Nasik/Pune, India

About the Role
As the Release Manager, you play a pivotal role in guiding and facilitating the delivery of high-quality software releases for our global cloud native SaaS solution. Working closely with the agile software development teams, you would ensure all teams are aligned, coordinated, and on track to deliver value iteratively and efficiently. You will manage the release backlog, resources, and risks, and ensure the release quality and compliance.
You will coordinate the release process with the product owner from the respective product line, development team, and stakeholders, and track and communicate the release progress and status. In this role, you will directly report to the VP Innovation SaaS Product Portfolio globally responsible for the initiative. You need to have strong communication and organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of agile software development principles.
Your responsibilities are:
- Champion a culture of product value delivery through high-quality software releases and continuous improvement.
- Plan and update the delivery schedule for software and services across the involved Product Lines
- Lead and coordinate the release activities, such as testing and deployment
- Monitor and report the release progress and performance
- Solve any problems and dependencies that may arise during the release process to ensure successful, timely and cost-effective delivery of releases
- Coordinate the timely resolution of high priority defects
- Maintain the release documentation
- Manage the release process, including capacity and risk management
- Ensure proper communication and transparency throughout the release process
- Work with development, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth releases and identify shortcomings in these areas for the program leadership
- Ensure adherence to organizational and industry standards
- Maintain good relationships with all relevant stakeholders, involve them in the release process and provide support on their relevant contributions
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the release status
- Improve the release process, working to minimize dependencies between the involved teams and ensure transparency on its implementation
You should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
- 5+ years of experience in software development and/or release management
- Uses AI in daily work. Has a personal workflow. Can name tools they prefer and explain why.
- Ideally has built or meaningfully contributed to AI-powered features. Understands prompt design, evaluation, guardrails and failure modes.
- Proven track record of software and service releases
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- End to end release planning (feature based and time based)
- Environment orchestration (DEV / QA / STG / PRD)
- Cutover, rollback, and hotfix coordination
- Dependency & cross team release management
- Azure DevOps (ADO) – Strong Hands‑On
- CI/CD & DevOps Fundamentals
- Release Risk & Go‑Live Readiness
- Documentation Discipline (Confluence)
- Quality & Testing Awareness
- Knowledge of software development and release processes
- Knowledge of ITIL and Agile methodologies
Good to Have Certification:
- ITIL (Foundation or above)
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- ICAgile / AgilePM
