Schedule: Day Shift. Mon - Fri. 8a-430p

About the Position

The Radiography Technologist supports the Reid Health Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Service Behaviors. The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations at the RHPA X-Ray locations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Provide regular and dependable attendance.

  • Competently operates radiographic equipment.

  • Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures.

  • Obtains patient history and symptoms.

  • Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders.

  • Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.

  • Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures.

  • Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families.

  • Accurately performs appropriate documentation.

  • Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines.

  • Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring.

  • Appropriately uses radiation protection devices.

  • Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

  • Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography students.

  • Competently uses Epic and PACS systems.

Education & Experience

  • Education Required: Graduate of an approved, 24-month program in Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

  • Education Preferred: Any additional radiology education.

  • Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years in an accredited educational program.

  • Experience Preferred: Additional experience as a licensed Radiography Technologist after completing an educational program.

  • Maintenance of Continuing Education: Credits required.

Licensure & Certification

  • Radiologic Technologist license by the Indiana Department of Health is required for all positions before starting work.

  • Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Current BLS certification.
