Summary of Position:
The Student Support Systems Coordinator plays a critical role on the BVA Operations team in ensuring that all students at Brandywine Virtual Academy are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating key student support systems, including wellness check-ins, attendance monitoring, and resource connections, while maintaining compliance with required documentation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and committed to building strong, relationship-driven support structures for students and families.
Essential Duties and Program/Budget Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the BVA Wellness Check-In program, ensuring consistent implementation, documentation, and follow-up with teachers, families, students, districts, and external organizations that support student wellness. This role requires interfacing with district personnel, ensuring efficient and effective communication and technology systems, including designing automations and project management related to Wellness Check-In program, training teachers on implementing check-ins, and leads the collaborative development of the entire program.
Support the development and refinement of a K-12 attendance tracking and communication system and dashboards. Customizes the attendance system for school districts, designing personalized dashboards, and reporting systems. Interfaces with districts, parents, and students regarding attendance. Designs systems for accepting district documentation and daily attendance excuses and documentation and creating automations wherever possible. Monitors and tracks student attendance using technology creating systems to ensure efficiency and effective communication. Collaborates with districts, staff and families to address attendance concerns
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation related to Chapter 339 and other state requirements and systems for sharing this information with partner districts. Creates and maintains dashboards for districts and portfolios for students and complex tracking and sharing systems with districts.
Connect students and families with internal and external resources to support academic success and well-being. Building internal systems and processes for these purposes.
Coordinate dual enrollment opportunities, including communication with partner institutions and student tracking and support coordination.
Maintain organized records and data systems to ensure timely reporting and follow-up.
Communicate effectively and pro-actively with students, families, and partner districts in both written and verbal formats.
Support continuous improvement of student support systems through data-informed practices and innovations in technology.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required
School counselor, social work, or teacher certification preferred, but not required
Demonstrated experience of a minimum of two years in student support, education, or a related field preferred
Exceptional Technology skills
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Strong technical skills, including proficiency with data systems, Google, Microsoft Office, and virtual platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
Salary Range:
Project, Level 14 (exempt) 200 day position, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week
2025-26 school year: $51,268.80-$64,086.00
2026-27 school year: $53,062.40- $66,328.00
