Purpose Statement
The job of School Manager-In-Training is to assist and support the Food Service Manager with daily operational and financial responsibilities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assist cafeteria workers with food preparation, meal service, confirming quantities and quality of food items are available for use and complying with mandated USDA School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) meal pattern regulations and all health requirements.
Job Grade: 110

Essential Functions
- Under the direction of the Manager, learn managerial skills necessary to become a manager and learn ordering, receiving, forecasting, inventory End of Day paperwork, etc.
- Assist Food Service Manager with training new employees
- Assist Food Service Manager with new employee follow-up visits
- Substitute for employees / Assistant Manager / Manager who are absent
- Participate in regularly scheduled Manager meetings
- Participates in on-site training as scheduled
- Any other duties assigned as needed
Other Functions
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
