Position Overview
Morrison High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate English teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication skills while fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to state standards in English Language Arts
- Teach a range of courses
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Integrate technology to enhance learning
- Maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives
- Serve as an advisor or support extracurricular activities as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement
- Strong knowledge of ELA standards and best instructional practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to student growth and school community
