Teacher SPED Preschool (Itinerant)
Job Description
Itinerant Early Childhood Special Education (IECSE) Teacher delivers Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to early childhood special education students ages 35 years old enrolled in early childhood programs without a special education certified teacher. The IECSE teacher travels to school sites where they teach, consult, participate in meetings, coordinate children's educational goals with other service providers, and partner with parents. The IECSE teacher will consult with and model best teaching practices and strategies for teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals and other members of the individualized education program (IEP) team; plan professional development for program and school staff; participate in IEP meetings and other meetings for children with disabilities; and support the Preschool Child Find Evaluation team as needed. The IECSE teacher will serve as case manager for all students with DD or PSD eligibility categories within the Head Start or Community Preschool Programs.
