Emergency DepartmentAs a Patient Care Technician in the Emergency Department (ED) you will be working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with 37 beds and an average daily volume of approximately 125 patients. You will receive approximately five weeks of comprehensive training, which includes skills such as orthopedic splinting, phlebotomy, EKGs, wound irrigation, laceration tray setup, point-of-care testing, specimen collection (urine and strep), and supporting ambulance arrivals, triage, split-flow areas, and behavioral health patient observation. Additionally, PCTs are trained to perform unit secretary (HUC) responsibilities. Staff are expected to rotate through various roles—including triage support, split-flow coverage, patient sitting, unit coordination, and floor support—and must demonstrate strong independence, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic emergency care setting.
This position is a full-time Night shift working with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 PM–6:30 AM.
We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days.
Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Responsibilities:
- Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
- Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
- Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
- 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
