Job Description

Primary Purpose: 


Responsible for program administration, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of a comprehensive school counseling program for the district. This role combines leadership in school counseling with oversight of Licensed Mental Health Professionals, demonstrating a commitment to holistic student development. 


Qualifications: 


Education/Certification: 

  • Master's degree in education, counselling, or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Valid Texas administrative certification required. 
  • Professional license required (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.). 

 

Special Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Knowledge of counseling procedures and requirements, student appraisal, state curriculum, state assessment, CTE programs, college, and career readiness standards. 
  • Knowledge of TWEDS/CO22 tables, transcripts, and HB5 graduation requirements. 
  • Experience with Skyward preferred. 
  • Knowledge of MTSS tools and systems. 
  • Ability to interact successfully and develop partnerships with a variety of people and groups. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
     

Experience: 

  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience required. 
  • Minimum of three years of school counseling experience required. 
  • High School counseling experience preferred.
  • Administrative/Leadership experience preferred.
