Description of Work

Salary Grade:NC12 Salary Range: $47,703-$83,479

This position is located at Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton, Burke County, NC. Foothills Correctional Institution is a close/minimum custody male facility.

This position reports to the Correctional Associate Warden for Programs at a multi custody male correctional facility. Job duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


Key Responsibilities
• Staff Supervision: Provide technical and administrative supervision to Case Analysts and support staff, including training, performance evaluation, and scheduling.
• Intake Operations: Supervise the admission, orientation, interviewing, and assessment processes for incoming offenders.
• Classification & Reporting: Oversee the preparation of diagnostic reports to determine custody levels, programming, and housing assignments.
• Policy & Compliance: Initiate changes in procedures, ensure compliance with state and correctional facility policies, and manage records.
• Coordination: Act as a liaison with prison wardens, security administration, and outside agencies to ensure smooth diagnostic workflow.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.

About The Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.

Education Equivalency Verification:

Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience as a Correctional Case Analyst; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
