Job Description
Position Summary:
The Plant Training Specialist is responsible for the creation and revision of training content, the revision of training materials, and the tracking of training completion, qualification, and re‑certification of hourly employees. This role ensures that the various departments it supports have the right learning assigned within appropriate timelines to support employee growth and development. This role is responsible for coordinating training and learning assessment activities to ensure compliance with regulatory organizations. It will serve as a key contributor in the development of competency‑based learning, the introduction of new training delivery methods, and collaboration with departments such as EHS, Quality, Refinery, Packaging, and Operations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate training programs through a variety of written, verbal, hands-on, classroom, and electronic/virtual methods. Validate transfer of knowledge through assessment tools to ensure that new learning is being utilized.
- Assist in conducting employee skill evaluations; track and report on training outcomes; and maintain all training documents and records. Maintain skills matrices and talent development tools and trackers to ensure that plant people capability meets the demands of the business.
- Provide status updates to the HR manager, including training completion and key actions in progress or completed.
- Complete training assessments that are essential in the review and recommendation of new hires.
- Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
- Support HR department initiatives and efforts as needed
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Training certifications are a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated capability with technical processes in the relevant area of expertise.
