Job Title: Energy Specialist / District Testing Coordinator
Contract Days: 240 days Teacher
Reports to: This position is directly supervised and evaluated by the Deputy Superintendent.
Qualifications of Employment:
- Valid Arkansas Teaching License
- Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Possesses above-average written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in the implementation of district policies and procedures
- Ability to promote district-wide initiatives and stakeholder engagement
- Skilled in presenting information to both large and small groups
- Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects
- Proficient in technology and computer operations, including Microsoft Office (with strong emphasis on Excel), data systems, and digital platforms
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical and assessment data
- Willingness to work irregular hours (evenings, weekends, early mornings, holidays, and summer) as needed
- Maintains a valid driver's license and ability to travel between district sites
Position Summary
The Energy Specialist / District Testing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and implementing the District's energy management program while also coordinating all aspects of state and district testing programs. This role requires strong data analysis, organization, and communication skills to ensure efficient energy usage, compliance with testing regulations, and accurate reporting. The position supports district goals by improving operational efficiency and ensuring the integrity of student assessment processes.
Energy Management Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary coordinator and advocate for the District's energy conservation program
- Monitor, analyze, and report energy consumption data and trends
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce utility usage in alignment with Board policy and administrative guidelines
- Conduct on-site energy audits and inspections across district facilities
- Maintain accurate utility records and validate savings and performance metrics
- Prepare and present regular reports, including quarterly updates to the Board
- Collaborate with maintenance and facilities staff regarding energy management systems (EMS) and needed repairs
- Communicate with staff to address building comfort concerns in a timely manner
- Promote staff awareness and engagement in energy conservation efforts
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to highlight program successes
- Ensure compliance with energy policies and contractual expectations (including vendor partnerships, if applicable)
District Testing Coordination Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all state and district assessment programs
- Ensure compliance with Arkansas Department of Education testing requirements, timelines, and security protocols
- Develop and communicate testing schedules, procedures, and expectations to campus administrators and staff
- Train campus testing coordinators and staff on testing procedures, accommodations, and security requirements
- Manage distribution, collection, and security of all testing materials
- Monitor testing environments to ensure fidelity and compliance
- Troubleshoot testing issues, including technology and logistics, during administration windows
- Maintain accurate testing records and documentation
- Compile, analyze, and distribute testing data and reports to district leadership
- Support campuses in understanding and utilizing assessment data to inform instruction and improvement efforts
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain open communication with district leadership, campus administrators, and staff
- Meet all deadlines for reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Identify and report safety concerns as needed
- Represent the District in a professional manner at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment
The employee may work in both office and field settings. Duties may include exposure to outdoor weather conditions, mechanical equipment, and varying noise levels ranging from quiet office environments to moderate or loud operational settings.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and operating equipment. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required. The employee may lift or move objects up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
