Job Description
Sioux Area Metro is South Dakota’s largest transportation provider. Our mission is to have a positive social and economic impact on the community by providing a safe and reliable transportation option for all who live, work, or play in Sioux Falls.
As a Custodian at SAM by Via, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of SAM’s properties. On the job training will be provided.
What You’ll Do:
- Clean buses, bus shelters, and buildings
- Maintain buildings and grounds, including general yard work and light building maintenance skills
- Additional responsibilities will be shared during the interview
Who You Are:
- Possess basic knowledge of HVAC, carpentry, and plumbing
- Hold a valid SD driver’s license
- Able to obtain a CDL permit
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical
- Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
- At least 21 years old
- Able to apply in person at the Sioux Area Metro office
Compensation and Benefits
- Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
- Salary: $19.12 / hour
- Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, 401K, clothing allowance, holiday pay, vacation days, bonus days, and tool allowance
- Shifts are bid by seniority
