Career Consultant (Grade 16, Exempt). Annual salary range: $70,393.85 – $87,992.31 (pro-rated for 205 days). This range reflects the minimum to midpoint of the grade. Salary may exceed the midpoint and will commensurate with experience.Job Description Summary:
The Career Consultant is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of a comprehensive career pathways program in partnership with Region V school districts. This role coordinates regional services that support career pathway redesign, student career readiness, and work-based learning opportunities, including oversight of student internships and collaborativeexperiences. Working closely with district leadership, educators, business and industry partners, and higher education institutions, the Career Consultant supports pathway development, data-informed decision-making, and effective use of student management systems to enhance postsecondary readiness. The role integrates an equity lens into all work to remove systemic barriers, promote culturally responsive practices, and ensure inclusive engagement of students, families, and community stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research, develop, coordinate, and lead services in the districts for successful career pathway development programming by engaging with major constituents in the region and the Sourcewell Education Solutions Team.
Collaborate with building leadership teams, teachers, and administration to do the following:
Implementation and professional learning support for educators to launch and integrate the student management system.
Develop multiple career pathways that include all career readiness indicator opportunities.
Brand pathways and assist with creating a communication plan for all constituent groups: caregivers, students, and community.
Build connections with local business and industry partners as well as higher education institutions in and potentially outside of the region.
Develop a plan to increase and maximize post-secondary credits in the high school setting.
Educate district constituents about high demand occupations and the education or training needed to obtain those positions.
Create a data collection plan and assist in data analysis for career readiness indicators.
Execution of a meaningful personal learning plan using the student management system.
Facilitate regularly scheduled action planning sessions with building leadership teams and administration.
Create and deliver presentations for use with various constituent groups to inform others of the career pathways, student management system, and impact metrics.
Provide coordination and assistance at the high school site for regional collaborative opportunities such as grants or shared student learning experiences between districts.
Identify and coordinate work-based learning opportunities and assist with supervision as needed.
Engage in professional development based on individual needs and shares learning with the Career Consultant team.
Maintains consistent communication with school administration, staff, and district strategy partners to assist in coordination of services.
Integrates an equity lens into work to ensure services and supports that foster:
Removing systemic barriers for historically marginalized peoples.
Promoting culturally responsive practices and policies
Engaging all voices.

Additional Job Description:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in education or related field OR a combination of post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to four (4) years.
Six (6) years of experience in K12 Education; of which the total years of
experience include:Experience providing support to other educators such as coaching, training, or
participating in committee leadership.
Required Licensure:
Current K-12 Education License (i.e. Teacher, School Counselor, Administrator, etc.)
Valid Driver's License
This position is 205 days per fiscal year.
Location:
This is a remote/hybrid position within Minnesota, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.
Applicants should be located near or in the counties we serve (Region 5) and be able to commute to the office and throughout the region at least 2-3 days a week for meetings and support.
